Makes Carrying Bags Easy

Parrot is a backpack attachment that prevents bags from sliding off. Parrot sits on your shoulder ready to help you with your tote bag from the grocery store, a satchel with your laptop, or a gym bag with clothes. With its universal strap design, Parrot can fit sized backpack and hold any bag that you can haul over your shoulder. Sold with an accompanying tote bag, helping to make reuse easier!

The design does not compromise comfort for the user by efficiently distributing the force over a greater area. Aimed to be a Kickstarter project, Parrot is designed to be as cheap and easy as possible to produce. The product consists of two parts–the body and the strap. The body is injection molded with a simple pull tool and the strap is a two-sided velcro die-cut to size and sonically welded in a loop around the plastic body.

DEVELOPMENT

Designed for High Volume

We worked through tons of iterations to satisfy the functionality and aesthetics. After selection our concept, we turned our attention to making Parrot cheaper to make at high volume. We had to resolve to major issues in order to be able to injection mold; the complex tool requirement and the unfortunate split line. We managed fix both by a change in pull direction and some geometry refinement.
